Bill Young is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Knoxville Bar Association, and the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association. He was invited to membership in the International Association of Defense Counsel and has been a member of that organization since 1993. Bill Young has been a hearing committee member for the Board of Professional Responsibility. He was also elected into membership of the American Inns of Court, Hamilton Burnett Chapter, in 1991.

Mediation comprises a significant portion of Bill’s practice. He has been a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 listed mediator since 1996. He has participated in and conducted hundreds of mediations. He has also served as an arbitrator on multiple occasions.

Mr. Young was admitted to practice in 1975, in Tennessee and U.S. District Court, Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee; U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit. He is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 civil mediator
